Multiple Intestinal Perforation Due to Balantidium Coli

Abstract
|
|
|
A case of multiple intestinal perforation due to agent of Balantidium coli was reported in view of its rarity and a review of the related literature, was made.
The patient was 58 year old house-wife had been suffering from dysuria and growing mass in the lower abdomen for 6 years. During operation, multiple small intestinal perforation and gangrenous change of ascending colon were recognize. Perforated small intestine was resected about 30 cm in length and ileostomy was performed. After operation, patient´s condition was not improved and discharged with bad condition on 3rd postoperative day.
